Maricopa Integrated Health System will celebrate pregnancy and motherhood this May when it presents "Expectations," an art show featuring baby bumps transformed into works of art. Hosted by the 6th Avenue Gallery in downtown Phoenix, “Expectations” is a collaborative effort that represents the perspective of more than a dozen pregnant women, the artists who transform their baby bumps into works of art, and finally the photographers who capture the work in progress. The resulting baby bump designs will be showcased during a photography exhibit that will debut on First Friday, May 3.
Proceeds from the sale of photography featured in the show will benefit low income women and children served by Maricopa Medical Center's Labor and Delivery Department. First Friday patrons also are encouraged to bring a baby shower gift or make a cash donation.
"Expectations" provides a unique way for Maricopa Integrated Health System to celebrate motherhood and pregnancy while also generating charitable contributions that will benefit the low income women and children served by Maricopa Medical Center's Labor and Delivery Department.
