The Foundation of a Healthy Tomorrow Campaign

Project Description – A Strategic Capacity Building Initiative

The board of directors of the Maricopa Health Foundation has authorized the launch of a second financial development effort, the Foundation of a Healthy Tomorrow campaign, to secure $2.3 million to expand the capacity of the Foundation in advance of a major campaign to fund a new academic medical center.

Maricopa Health Foundation is a critical partner in advancing the health and welfare of our community. Building its capacity is needed to move to the next level of operational, programmatic, financial, and organizational maturity, in order to more effectively and efficiently fulfill its mission. This requires an appropriate staffing structure to meet its objectives, which puts the right talent in the right positions and introduces protocols and policies that will enable efficient and predictable philanthropic growth.

The Maricopa Health Foundation will expand its staff adding a major gifts officer, a grant writer, a stewardship coordinator and an annual giving officer. These professionals will focus on the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of philanthropic gifts.

When this effort is successful, it will ensure a stable and sustainable foundation from which to address our community’s urgent challenges. It will help to build a high-performing organization, and strong programs.

To advance the Foundation of a Healthy Tomorrow Campaign, the Maricopa Health Foundation Board of Directors will enlist top-tier leadership from the community especially among those that desire to see that the best possible health care is available in Arizona.
