Survivors Can Live a Beautiful Life
Support Mariposa: Wings to Safety – the Valley’s only hospital-based domestic violence program. Mariposa: Wings to Safety is a 24/7 crisis response for victims and families affected by domestic violence. We need your help to keep the program operating.
1 in every 4 women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime.
Domestic violence is not a "family problem." It’s a crime.
What Your Business Can Do
Throughout October, during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, businesses across the Valley will join together in support of the “Domestic Violence is UGLY - Survivors can Live a Beautiful Life” campaign by asking their clients to make a small donation at the register.
Your clients can enter their name in an online contest to win a $100 VISA Gift Card (no purchase or donation is necessary to enter).
We will also work with you to create a custom promotion for your business to encourage your clients to participate by offering them a coupon or special upgrade. Or, you may opt for a custom advertisement on the take-away.
What Your Business Gets
During the last week of September, you will receive countertop donation poster(s), a tablet of custom coupon/advertisement take-aways, and "Live a Beautiful Life" wrist bands for your customers and clients.
As a sponsoring business, your logo will appear on printed materials, on the 96”video display board in new lobby of Maricopa Medical Center, and on the Maricopa Health Foundation website. We will also post on social media about your busines
Contributions you collect in October will be used to support the Mariposa: Wings to Safety program - the only hospital-based domestic violence program in Maricopa County. This innovative, life-saving educational service provides:
- 24/7 access to highly trained Advocates, safety training, and orders of protection on-site at the hospital for any domestic violence victim.
- Extended training for doctors and other healthcare providers in the Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS). Providers learn how to identify patients experiencing domestic violence and refer them directly to the Mariposa: Wings to Safety program.
